How to remove photos from photo albums?

First and foremost, DON'T PANIC! Pulling photos that aren't ready to lift will most likely cause severe damage to the photo.

Removing stuck photos can be a tricky process, but one way or another, it's almost always achievable.

If you have the digital files or negatives, consider getting REPRINTS rather than attempting to remove the original photos.

If you don't have digital files or negatives, consider COPYING or RE-PHOTOGRAPHING the old photos before you attempt to remove them, to create a backup in case of catastrophic failure.

For valuable photos, we strongly recommend seeking PROFESSIONAL ADVICE from a qualified, experienced conservator. Inquire at your local library, museum, art gallery or historical society and they may be able to direct you to someone who can help.

This also means "valuable to you". If the photos are old, important and/or precious to you and your family, be very careful. If they aren't in immediate danger, consider leaving them until you can get a professional opinion.
